Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo is another administrative area of the Principality of Monaco. Its name has an Italian origin and means 'Mount Charles', named after Prince Charles III of Monaco during the time of His reign.
The most important landmarks in Monte Carlo are the Casino, the Opera Garnier and the Hotel de Paris.






The Casino
Designed by the French architect Jules Touzet, Officer of the Academy and graduate of the School of Fine Arts of Paris, the building is enhanced by a wrought-iron awning and two pavilions crowned by domes covered in ceramics which frame the entrance.
